The department is seeking folks that wish to work on various projects that could include repair of equipment, mowing of town owned property along the roadside, running chainsaws, operating heavy equipment such as, loaders, excavators, backhoes and dump trucks ( a CDL is required) and operating snowplow equipment in the winter, all with the goal of ensuring the traveling public is safe on Arundel roads. Manual labor is also part of the job as well. In addition to the mowing, you would be working alongside other department employees with traffic control, clearing brush and installing culverts. Everyone gets their hands dirty while enjoying the opportunity of working outdoors.

The Town of Arundel is currently seeking two full-time employees that are 18 years of age or older and hold a valid Maine CDL driver's license. The positions will require you to work some nights, weekends, and holidays during snow events and weather emergencies. Starting pay for our positions, depending

on experience and qualifications will range from $820 to $1,058 per week. You will receive pay at time and a half your regular rate for any worked time over 40 hours in a 7-day period. The Town of Arundel offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes paid medical and dental insurance for the employee, vacation and sick leave, paid holidays and contributes to your retirement plans. After you have completed your probationary period, the Town will provide you with uniforms.
