Role: Swim Instructor and Life Guard
Summary: Instructs students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on a thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.

Role: Swim Instructor and Life Guard
Summary: Instructs students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on a thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach swimmers water safety and technique in accordance to the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
- Provide positive reinforcement to swimmers
- Advances through cross-training in multiple roles and substitutes when necessary
- Evaluates students’ progress each week
- Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents; rescues and administers first aid when necessary
- Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to provide a Golden Experience to our students, families, and team members
- Ability to work with children
- High energy and strong work ethic
- Problem solver and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
- Prior related leadership and teaching experience is preferred (supervisory roles)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Must pass background examinations prior to training
- No experience is necessary. This is a great first job and part-time job for teenagers in high school and/or college students.
- Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider a plus!
- Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification will be required. For those not certified, Goldfish Swim School provides certification courses in our facility, which all employees are required to complete within 3 months of employment.
