Funeral Director Job at Lamont Mortuary
- 2+ years of college or vocational school required with course work in mortuary science
- At least 1 year experience working in a funeral home
- Active Funeral Directors/Embalmers License according to state requirements
- Ability to lift/ carry 75 lbs
- Team player modal
- Perform tasks related to the preparation of the deceased: removal and transfer, embalming, cosmetology, hairstyling, dressing, and casketing
- Coordinate funeral services and visitations including managing the delivery and removal of flowers, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal memorabilia
- Prepare all documents related to funeral services, cremations, and maintenance
- Provide timely delivery of documents, cards, memorabilia, etc. to the family following the service
- Assist families with insurance assignments, and paperwork
- Build strong relationships within the community through active involvement in area organizations and participation in charitable events
- Adhere to all professional, state, and federal licensing authorities, regulations, and rules applicable to funeral service
- Working with the San Carlos Apache community
- Ability to manage distressing and stressful situations with sensitivity and care
- Exceptional organizational, communication and listening skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including working with comforting grieving guests members
- Thorough understanding of laws related to funerals and funeral arrangements
- Ability to promptly and accurately execute required legal paperwork
- Ability to perform mortuary services
- Proficient with DAVE or related software
