General Accountant Job at Chatham Bars Inn
The responsibilities of the General Accountant are to participate in the month end close, prepare and review monthly financial entries and reports, and to oversee all aspects of the Resort Receivable functions including wedding, banquet, and group billings and receipts. The following are specific duties of the General Accountant:
- Resort Group Invoicing with applicable follow up and ownership of accounts.
- Weekly Review of Resort Aging reports.
- Attending Pre-con meetings with resort and clients to confirm proper billing
- Inventories – participate, reconcile and post monthly entries
- Prepare journal entries for accrual process at month end
- Assist departments in the interpretation, orientation, training, and analysis of accruals, monthly recaps, and financial reports
- Reconcile monthly workpapers
- Respond timely to customer inquires
- Assist in Daily and Summary resort reporting when needed as back up
- Other duties may be assigned as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Accounting degree preferred
- Advanced Excel experience required
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work with guest and employee concerns in a friendly manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating concern to the customer/co-worker, and providing positive and proactive solutions.
- Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with employees and guests.
