We are looking for a General Clerk III at NIWC Pacific in San Diego, CA.

Job Summary

The Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) Corporate Operations Department, Code 80, delivers products and services to the Center that enables their Technical Departments, customers, and stakeholders to rapidly deliver cyber warfighting capability from seabed to space. The scope of this effort is to provide professional and administrative support services to NIWC Pacific, Command Operations Support, Command Administrative Services, and Facilities Operations.

Anticipated Start Date: June 1, 2022

Job Responsibilities

Provide general administrative support to NIWC Pacific’s Corporate Operations Division, Command Administrative Services Branch and Facilities Operations and its various functions that may need general administrative support. Examples of general administrative support responsibilities anticipated for this contract include (but are not limited to) responding to telephone calls and routing these queries/messages for action, maintaining specified websites, and maintaining their respective databases, creating and ensuring various documents and files are current and up to date.

General Duties

  • Assisting in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.

Classified Material Control

  • Shall control, track, and process for disposition all classified/unclassified documents and material, including North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and special program material. Support is anticipated for NIWC Pacific, SPAWAR Headquarters and other Echelon II organizations within the SPAWR clemency in accordance with SECNAV, DoD and NIWC Pacific security guidance for handling, inventory, and transmission of classified material.

Material Destruction

  • Perform classified material destruction tasks in accordance with DON and NIWC Pacific regulations.

Mail Service Operations

  • Manage the entire mail services work effort, including: unclassified and classified incoming/outgoing and NIWC Pacific Internal Mail, classified and unclassified incoming/outgoing special service mail, unclassified and classified Commanding Officer (CO) mail, and basic mail administrative functions.

Directive Management

  • Maintain NIWC Pacific directives to ensure they are current and accurate by participating in the socialization of review, routing, and prioritization plans through briefings with NIWC Pacific.

Travel Services

  • Provide management and oversight of the Travel Function for NIWC Pacific personnel in the Defense Travel System (DTS), Government Travel Card Program, Civilian PCS and TCS order processing, preparing and analyzing numerous and varied travel-related reports from DTS and the commercial travel card company, maintaining travel databases and all required documentation for proper audit review as well as process employee check-ins and check-outs.
  • Process hard copy PCS, TCS orders - obtaining cost estimates, preparing orders, and counseling employees on various entitlements and allowances.
  • Create and audit daily, weekly, and monthly reports from DTS and commercial travel Card Company.
Requirements:
  • Secret Security Clearance Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in administrative work
  • Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows, proficient in MS Office Suite.
