POSITION TITLE: General Dentist

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

POSITION REPORTS TO: Director of Oral Services

POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None

POSITION DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

1. Provide basic, preventive, endodontic, restorative, periodontic, prosthodontic, and oral surgery services to all patients.

2. Provide oral hygiene instructions and patient education to all patients.

3. Provide 3,000 patient encounters minimum per year.

4. Complete and maintain patient charts via Dentrix.

5. Formulate and implement dental treatment plans for patients as documented in Dentrix.

6. Write or dictate letters, summaries, referrals, etc. in Dentrix.

7. Participate in the development of the annual dental health care plan.

8. Work cooperatively with other professionals and paraprofessionals including dental auxiliary staff.

9. Participate in the development and conducting of dental and community health projects as requested by the Dental Director or Executive Director.

10. Participate in case conferences, chart audit system on an on-going basis.

11. Participate on staff committees as requested.

12. Participate in regular continuing dental education activities (20 credit hours per year.

13. Be available for dental clinic day and evening hours as well as Saturdays and holidays according to rotation schedule.

14. Provide emergency telephone coverage according to rotation schedule including weekends and holidays.

15. Perform other related work as directed by Dental Coordinator.

16. Maintain accurate logs and record keeping via computer database and/or manual.

17. Act as a preceptor for Dental Students as assigned.

18. Adhere to QCHC House Rules.

19. Participates in the creation, development, and planning of special events, as directed.

20. Actively participates as a member in at least one disparity collaborative.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

1. 100% adherence to standards set for provision of services to patients.

2. 95% of patient contact

3. No less than 90% adherence

4. 95% of time according to the Dental Department.

5. 100% compliance to the Clinical Protocol Manual.

6. 100% compliance as indicated.

QUAUFICATIONS:

• Licensed to practice Dentistry in Pennsylvania DEA License

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Graduated from Accredited Dental School

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
