FIT THEOREM GENERAL MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the owner, the General Manager is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and success of two or more fitness studios. The goal of this position is to manager multiple managers and curate the next layer of leadership as we grow our business in terms of both revenues and locations. You will create and set in motion the processes that will ensure that the studios are consistently reaching and exceeding their revenue goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

Training

  • Ensure personal attention is being provided by trainers during every FitTheorem workout with high energy and with the ability to multitask as necessary
  • Ensure trainers are explaining and demonstrating exercises in a manner that provides the best workout each and every time, while motivating clients to reach their personal fitness goals, participate as necessary
  • Schedule out and conduct mentor time with all coaches and managers.
  • Maintain active certifications including participating in required continuing education
  • Successfully complete Manager bootcamp in-person Training in Houston (corporate headquarters)
  • Participate in all Manager Franchisor trainings and communicate with Owner action items to effectively implement into the studio operations
  • Ongoing periodic travel may be required for studio specific training and/or industry events

Selling

  • Sell client memberships with a focus on total revenue brought in each month
  • Achieve monthly sales goals established with owner
  • Develop strategy for and manage Fit Theorem’s Social Media Presence (Facebook, Instagram, and others) by creating content and videos that build brand loyalty and increase exposure to all potential demographics.
  • Develop and execute monthly marketing plans with owner, within a monthly budget, which may include the following, or others: Trade Shows, Health Fairs, Business to Business relationships, corporate partnerships, Ambassador and Mentor programs
  • Personalized and engaging lead generation/re-generation and follow up to convert prospects into clients
  • Maintain excellent customer service with current clients, follow up with them to keep them engaged with our FitTheorem Family, and cultivate client referrals
  • Customer service via all forms of communication: in person, phone, email, text, social media, etc.
  • Resolve past due client memberships

Cleaning

  • Ensure the studio is kept clean and all equipment organized and in working order at all times.
  • Ensure all Opening & Closing Procedures are completed as scheduled and outlined.
  • Develop a scheduled cleaning program and ensure team members carry out tasks in a high quality, timely manner
  • Order inventory and supplies as needed

Operations

  • Manage the individual studio managers and monitor key metrics to ensure success
  • Work closely with owner to hire, properly train, and motivate employees
  • Drive the educational training, development, and performance review of managers and employees in a timely manner, and help facilitate the ongoing training and knowledge sharing in the fitness and wellness industry
  • Conduct monthly team trainings/meetings and inform employees of all marketing promotions and new policies, and provide guidance toward achieving individual career and company goals
  • Provide sales support and training to staff to maintain a high conversion rate
  • Manage work schedule for all employees
  • Mediate and resolve employee relations matters
  • Maintain a focus on keeping expenses low, including payroll expenses, to maximize profit growth
  • Ensure employees consistently execute the basics in punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness and cleanliness
  • Maintain the security and safety of the studio, clients, guests, and confidential information
  • Manage any and all duties required to run a successful, profitable studio that adheres to Standards outlined by FitTheorem

Community Involvement

  • Participate in existing studio initiatives to help support our Community’s healthy eating and active living programs.
  • Participate in Fitness Coalition programs

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sales experience with demonstrated ability to drive sales and meet established goals
  • Proven leadership ability in an educational, fitness or professional setting
  • Clear and articulate communication skills, both oral and written
  • Efficient time management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Physical effort required to carry out daily duties such as lifting supplies and studio equipment potentially in excess of 50lbs and standing for long periods of time (8 hours)
  • Flexible schedule and available to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Current CPR/AED certification required and must be maintained during employment

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (ex: Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Sports Management)
  • Personal Training and/or Health Coaching certification (NASM, NSCA, ACE, ISSA, NFPT)
  • 2 years related sales experience
  • 2 years experience in the fitness industry
  • 2 years of leadership and people management experience including proven success in leading, coaching and motivating teams and individuals to achieve goals and objectives of the organization
  • Proficiency in studio management software, to include revenue reports, attendance reports, etc.

COMPENSATION:

This is a full-time position with varying hours of work. This position may require long hours and night/weekend work. You can also start part time.

Potential to make upwards of $100,000 based on your performance and studio performance
