Job Summary

The Gift Processing Specialist is an integral part of the Denver Health Foundation team. This position is responsible for the accurate processing, receipting, and acknowledgement of donations using the Foundation’s constituent databases (Raiser's Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT). This individual serves as a constituent records and contributions primary point of contact and promotes adherence to best practices for charitable contributions and data hygiene. Additionally, the Gift Processing Specialist will work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate gift and donor information, and be responsible for implementing Denver Health Foundation’s donation management strategy. This hybrid position requires a minimum of one day per week on site.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Familiarity with basic gift accounting principles, relevant IRS rulings, and general charitable gift guidelines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills including tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Experience processing donations and maintaining donor confidentiality.
  • Experience handling data inputs from and outputs to a variety of sources and people.
  • Able to manage large and complex file banks, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Self-motivated and process-driven team player.
  • Analytic and thoughtful problem-solver, proactive problem-preventer.
  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to spot errors in work.
  • Able to rapidly integrate feedback and adapt to new systems.
  • Clear understanding of connections between skilled data management and nonprofit success.
  • Clear interest in contributing to an organizational culture of philanthropy while expanding one’s own interest in nonprofits, fundraising, and/or the Denver Health mission.

Computers and Technology:

  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar database.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate required. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in bank operations, reconciliation, record keeping, transaction inquiry and cash handling preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a Development or non-profit environment preferred.
  • Experience with fundraising or relationship management database tools, such as Raiser's Edge, SalesForce, or equivalent preferred.

Salary:

$21.15 - $30.24/hr
