The Global Resource Manager will be supporting our Global Product organization.

The new Global Product Organization was launched earlier in 2022 to provide differentiated products that are reusable and configurable based on customer needs in full speed to potentialize AS&UX as industry-leading. With a clear roadmap for the future, based upon common goals and values, the Global Product Organization strengthen the AS&UX Business and better position Aptiv to compete and win.

Job Summary:

Aptiv is looking for a self-driven and detailed oriented leader who brings a unique blend of high execution and strategic thinking, able to understand our strategy in advance to proactively influence in the headcount blueprint which will impact in our resource allocation. This role will cover all functions of the Global product organization, interacting with the leadership in order to understand and strategize resources, cost (budget) and align with the proper required output in order to maximize performance and secure the best resources in the right place at the right time.

Your Role:

  • Lead a global team of resource management professionals to generate complete and reliable engineering resource planning and management data.

  • Work with Resource Managers and Engineering Leaders to ensure disciplined adherence to established resource management business processes.

  • Coordinate and support regular updates of project plans and other resource planning data, and ensure standardized dashboards are fed with latest available information.

  • Conduct mid-and-long-term capacity planning analysis based on the combination of in-flight projects and active pursuits.

  • Work with the Analytics and KPIs team and local leadership to develop standard reports and KPI dashboards for resource planning and management within ASUX. Support ASUX senior leadership with ad-hoc reporting as required.

  • Identify, rigorously test, and implement value-adding refinements to resource management business practices and procedures.

  • Rigorously interrogate ASUX resource data for opportunities to optimize planning and allocation of engineering resources level for practice employees.

  • Continuously search for new ways to leverage available data to uncover new insights and improve overall planning and allocation of engineering resources.

  • Understand and monitor training and credential requirements of practice employees and implement actions to meet those requirements as necessary.

  • Oversee practice-wide strategic initiatives and projects in support of resource management strategy; maintain an awareness of the business and regulatory environment and related priorities and impact on resourcing needs.

  • Develop proficiency in the Aptiv resource management systems and tools.

  • Working closely with finance to align on the resource allocation strategies and understanding the financial implications of such.

  • Using benchmark analysis to understand the resource allocation shift trends in the market to proactively make these hiring decisions (so, we are not late in the game and we can attract some of these talent beforehand).

Your Background:

  • 5+ years of recent experience in one or more business related areas including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Resource Management or general business operations or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in resource management related activities (workforce planning, engineering resources planning, monitoring over and under-utilized individuals in projects / programs and developing actions to balance workloads, etc.).

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookups and complex formulas

  • Demonstrated critical and strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, analytical and diagnostic skills

  • Being able to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field.
