PURPOSE

The Security Operations Manager assesses company risks (theft and diversion, terrorism, workplace violence, civil unrest, weather) and helps mitigates those risks with the assistance of technology such as our 24/7 security operations centre (camera and alarm monitoring, incident response, severe weather tracking).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct oversight and responsibility for the Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring the SOC provides maximum impact in reducing operational risk in a cost-effective manner.

Global responsibilities include:

  • Assess the risk level of varied sites throughout the world to help identify the security level required to keep those sites secure.
  • Maintain the global site security database of entire catalogue of active Linde sites.
  • Conduct initiatives to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of GSOC
  • Support Head of Security and Regional Heads of Security in their duties.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise Linde sites on security system issues such has camera outages and access control issues to facilitate required vendor services.
  • Perform requested security system reviews to include providing camera footage and access control logs pertaining to management reviews, HR investigations, and legal issues.
  • Conduct threat assessments of individuals posing an alleged or potential risk to the safety of our personnel and help provide recommendations to mitigate the risks.
  • Assist with the development, design, execution, and enforcement of global and regional policies, strategies, initiatives, and special projects.
  • Conduct benchmarking and market research to find opportunities to improve security services and capabilities.
  • Conduct initiatives to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of SOC.
  • Conduct investigations into security incidents and compliance violations.
  • Support Linde, NA business specific on-site security contractor teams and the associated security systems.
  • Work closely with the Linde security integrators to identify and resolve open service tickets.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements / Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in military and/or law enforcement. Relevant security certifications, and security systems/IT knowledge are a plus.

Technical Skills (preferred but not required)

  • Knowledge of SOC technology and best practices, access control systems, CCTV, and other risk mitigation physical security measures.
  • Experience in contractor management within an ongoing and repetitive atmosphere.
  • Experience working with physical security standards, processes and compliance.
  • Experience in the chemicals or industrial gas industries and/or knowledge of hazardous materials a significant plus.
