Grant Writer Job at Orchard Village
The Grant Writer plays a key role in the Development Department's fundraising and communication efforts, including the successful identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donor-advised-fund donors, family foundations, non-profit foundations, and corporations.
Responsibilities:
- Generate ongoing support of the organization by developing and implementing a strategy for contributions from foundations, corporations, donor-advised funds and other grant funding bodies.
- Identify and research foundations, corporations, family funds, and individual donors who have gift potential that matches our funding needs.
- Prepare and maintain an annual schedule of grant applications, reporting deadlines, and progress toward annual grant fundraising goals.
- Prepare, write, and submit foundation and other grant funding requests.
- Solicit foundations, corporations, companies & organizations for event donations and sponsorships.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in business, communications, public relations, journalism, English, non-profit management, or related fields.
- Experience writing grants and researching potential funders.
- Strong research, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite programs, Constant Contact, donor databases, auction software, and direct mail preferred.
