Job Summary: In this role you will be responsible for organizing the creation of editorial content in both print and digital formats to maintain readership and secure advertiser support. You'll help lead the production process for applicable brands. You'll be supervising a variety of editors and will the director of training. Create and execute an editorial strategy to maintain current and future group success.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual brand editorial calendars that garner readership and advertiser support. Adjust coverage and direction as needed based on real-time industry trends.
  • Recruit freelancers for necessary contributed content.
  • Oversee monthly production of print magazines.
  • Create digital products including newsletters.
  • Lead website content creation and strategy.
  • Create an editorial budget for both contributed content and T&E. Monitor and adjust the budget as needed.
  • Attend industry and client events for purposes of networking and news/information gathering.
  • Supervise editing team.
  • Create and execute a social media strategy.
  • Foster client relationships to secure advertising support and maintain industry knowledge.
  • Work with sales to develop best practices for partnering with editorial.
  • Utilize analytics to drive editorial direction.
  • Build group synergy in utilizing resources both in staffing and content needs.

  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Adobe (InCopy/InDesign/Photoshop specifically) and Word suite of products preferred
  • Comfortable on camera and in person being the face of the group of brands
  • Knowledge on AP style and adaptable to internal style, with a firm understanding of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Well organized, flexible team player.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.

Equivalent Education / Experience:

  • B.S. Degree in Journalism, English, Communications or Public Relations
  • 7-10 years experience in publishing, communications
  • Automotive industry experience a plus
