The State of New Hampshire, Fish and Game Department has a part- time seasonal vacancy for Laborer with an anticipated start date 04/21/2023.
Summary:
To assist in all aspects of the Karner blue butterfly and Pine Barrens habitat restoration including assisting with captive rearing of Karner blues at all life stages in a lab setting, monitoring wild Karner blue butterflies, and assisting with habitat restoration efforts including planting, and collecting seeds, and maintaining equipment necessary to conduct restoration efforts.
To assist in all aspects of the Karner blue butterfly and Pine Barrens habitat restoration including assisting with captive rearing of Karner blues at all life stages in a lab setting, monitoring wild Karner blue butterflies, and assisting with habitat restoration efforts including planting, and collecting seeds, and maintaining equipment necessary to conduct restoration efforts.
Responsibilities:
Care for Karner blue butterflies at all life stages in the captive rearing facility.
Plants wild blue lupine and other native nectar plants.
Plants wild blue lupine and other native nectar plants.
Collects seeds from native plants.
Monitors moth and butterfly species under the supervision of Nongame Program staff.
Maintains tools and facilities associated with the projects.
Assists with other projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Completion of eighth grade or its equivalent.
Experience : No experience required.
License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver's license. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the agency.
