The Northeast Health District is seeking Health Equity Navigator to assist with outreach efforts designed to reduce COVID-19 related disparities among populations at higher risk and that are underserved. The position would be based in Athens, GA and would be responsible for establishing partnerships to help improve vaccination rates as well as traveling with the outreach team to counties within the Northeast Health District (Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton). This is a time-limited grant funded position.
Job responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting with outreach and engagement, training, and support in connecting community members with resources and services.
  • Working in neighborhoods, community centers, churches, etc.
  • Assisting with addressing vaccine hesitancy within the communities and challenges including navigating processes.
  • Assisting the outreach team with community-based mobile vaccination clinics throughout the district, including canvassing and on-site support.
  • Documenting COVID-19 health equity and community outreach activities and preparing quarterly reports on activities, as assigned.
  • Physical requirements include ability to work outdoors and may require weekend and/or evening work.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and Two years of experience providing educational, training, or instructional services in functional area.

Preferred Qualifications
Public Health or medical office experience. Data entry skills. Experience with community engagement and developing collaborations/partnerships. Bilingual: Spanish and English

Annual salary $35,000 plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.

Job Responsibilities
