Summary:
Goldbelt C6, LLC is seeking a Part-Time Health Scientist III to provide support in program operations, applied research, and communication and marketing support services for activities related to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Division of Diabetes Translation and the Translation, Health Education and Evaluation Branch mission.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Designs, develops, and implements studies to address key research questions related to program outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Has working knowledge of and expertise with various research designs and quantitative/qualitative methods.
  • Analyzes research findings and makes recommendations for next steps and future research.
  • Searches, synthesizes, and interprets information relevant to public health.
  • Reviews and analyzes studies assessing public health issues in order to make recommendations.
  • Typical assignments require developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for implementing projects and developing criteria for evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Identifies best practices and advises organizational leadership on how they could be adopted in various settings. Identifies and analyzes issues, problems, and challenges facing the program; formulates and evaluates possible courses of action for resolving them; draws conclusions based on relevant facts; and recommends solutions to organizational leadership.

Necessary Skills & Knowledge:

  • Experience in creating tables and charts for presentations and coordinating meetings.
  • Knowledge of surveillance data, data visualization, and data integration.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse set of government and commercial stakeholders on technical contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, teamwork, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to derive innovative solutions to complex problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral science, epidemiology, program evaluation, social science, or other public health-related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Communication, English, Health Education, Public Health, or related field.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
