High- and Mid-Level Cooks

Little North is the newest food business in the hip little Catskills town of Livingston Manor, NY, about 2 hours from NYC. We are searching whole-heartedly for excited, talented, and caring food people to help make our kitchen and market everything it is destined to be. New hires will work alongside (and eventually independently of) our chef-owner, a James Beard Award-winning cookbook author, professional cook and baker, and former food magazine Editor in Chief, to keep our kitchen seasonal, bountiful, and creative. *Newly renovated apartment housing is potentially available for the right candidate(s)—please inquire if interested.*

We are a farm-focused, modern casual restaurant with an all-day menu and open-kitchen format. In the front, we also have a small specialty market with unique gourmet goods from around the Catskills, Hudson Valley, and Europe, and prepared foods to go. We are hiring at least 1-2 (but potentially more!) part-time and full-time cooks, bakers, and food creatives to help ideate weekly menus, prepare and serve dishes, fill our food cases with beauty, and execute everything on our menu from antipasti boards and breakfast sandwiches to farm-fresh sides, salads, soups, and rotisserie chickens. Start date can be anywhere from February to April 2023, but hired chefs/cooks must be available throughout the summer and fall which is our busiest season in the Catskills.

We are inspired by the seasons and focus on fresh, beautiful food, and good hospitality is important to us. Our vibe is bright and happy, farm-forward, and simple but sophisticated—and that’s the kind of cooks we are looking for. Experience level can vary, but a truly professional demeanor is essential.

Quality of life is important to us. We are a family-friendly staff, and our current business hours are 10am to 6pm. Staff is typically on site no earlier than 8am and no later than 6:30pm. We are willing to be as flexible as we can with your hours and days, but weekends are our key business days here and weekend work is essential.
