Responsibilities:
Lead development of high voltage microgrid architecture and electrical modeling, including High Voltage System layout, high voltage component sizing, electrical safety, EMC and system integration
Use system requirements to build an initial High Voltage system architecture based on tradeoff studies to meet performance and cost targets.
Drive component tradeoff discussions in the areas of motors, inverters, dc-dc, fuses, busbars etc to achieve optimal HV system architecture
Work with Systems Engineer to negotiate design tradeoffs and requirements compliance with vehicle team and sub-systems teams
Build plant models to validate architecture and provide preliminary performance targets
Integrate sub-models from other vehicle interfaces into the plant model and update requirements compliance
Work with vehicle integration and subsystem teams to continuously integrate refined models of the vehicle and the sub systems
Support root cause analysis of system level issues. Coordinate the investigation with sub-system owners and drive to successful remediation
Support resolution of various hardware and software issues during component level and system level testing
Collaborate with systems integration and vehicle platform teams to integrate the high voltage architecture with powertrain, hydraulics and thermal systems
Develop EMC specifications based on modeling and testing. Work with vehicle and component teams to troubleshoot EMC issues.
Support the development of in-house test facilities and manage external testing service providers.
Mentor junior members of the team and support talent development
Function as a global expert on HV system architecture
The annual salary for this role is $97,000 - $139,000 a nd is eligible for the company bonus plan (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or relevant degree, or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of industry experience with powertrain development

Preferred Qualifications:
MS or Ph.D. with specialization in e-powertrain development
Familiarity with e-powertrain architectures including batteries, supercapacitors, power electronics and hybrid architectures
Past OEM experience or Tier-1 product development experience in designing and developing powertrain concepts.
Plant modeling/1D modeling experience. Preferably in Simulink/Simscape or PLECS/PSIM toolset
Prior experience with OEM or Tier 1 suppliers on high voltage architecture of powertrain from concept through to production
Familiar with functional safety and EMC standards
