We have a tutoring opportunity in Jamaica Plain (a Boston-area community) working with a 5th grade girl with ADHD. The goal is not to tutor her in any subject but to help with overall academic success. The mom says the daughter wants a "homework buddy" to help her get her work completed and turned in each week, but we hope you'd be more than just a homework helper, but also build the girls Executive Function skills. She has ADHD.
We train our coaches and provide you with an overview of the various executive function deficits that can impact students with ADHD, and you will learn strategies to help your students manage or overcome these deficits.
We can pay $40/hr and you'd see the student at home twice a week, ideally Tu/Th at 5pm but they are definitely flexible. A Bachelor's Degree and tutoring/teaching experience is preferred. We pride ourselves on being really easy to work with; the only paperwork is to sign our contractor agreement, then you report your hours online and we pay twice a month.
