Hospice CNA Job at Lakeview Christian Home of the Southwest
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provides personal care to the patient as ordered by the plan of care
· Provide quality care to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality
· Observe temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure and weight of patients when so directed
· Informs the registered nurse of any changes in the patient’s condition
· Submits documentation to be filed in the patient’s record in a timely manner
· Attends team meetings as required
· Is responsible for continuing education required by the New Mexico Board of Nursing Assistants
· Follows appropriate hospice policies and procedures
· Keep basic computer documentation of personal care services rendered and other appropriate services on a daily basis
· Carries out all other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must hold certification as a nursing assistant in the State of New Mexico
· Must have a minimum of six months experience in direct patient care in a hospice, home health care, hospital, or nursing home setting
· Must pass the competency evaluation of skills performed under the supervision of a registered nurse
· Must have a vehicle for travel to patient’s home with a valid New Mexico driver’s license and proof of liability insurance
· Current BLS certification
· HIPAA training and understanding of confidentiality requirements
Must be able to pass a background check.
