There are several major educational institutions including California State University, Monterey Bay, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, the Defense Language Institute (DLI) and Presidio of Monterey, Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), Monterey Peninsula College, and Hartnell College in Salinas.
Natividad Hospital
Natividad Medical Center is a 172-bed acute care hospital owned and operated by Monterey County. We are a teaching hospital with a UCSF affiliated Family Medicine residency program as well as rotating medical students and physician assistant students. Position Description
Full time hospitalist positions available for Internal Medicine or Family Medicine trained physicians in our hospital employed group. We have both day shift and nocturnist positions available. For the day shift (7am-7pm), procedures are welcome but not required. Code coverage is shared between teams. Hospitalists rotate between teaching and non-teaching medicine teams as well as our Acute Rehabilitation Unit. Teams rotate admitting days. Nocturnists (7pm-7am) will cover the ICU and must be proficient in central lines, intubation and ventilator management, with in-house backup from anesthesia. Nocturnists will supervise residents with admissions (average 4-5 per night), codes and cross-cover.
