Job Description:

The Host is the first and last person that a customer sees when entering and departing the restaurant. A host job description demonstrates that they have a variety of tasks but are primarily responsible for welcoming customers, seating them in their desired place, answering phone calls, taking carryout orders and handling payments. A formal education is not necessary or required; however, on-the-job training of our POS systems, Steps of Service and Menu is necessary and required. A food handler certificate is also required during initial training as back-of-house assistance and food handling might be needed, such as packaging carry out orders.

Job Responsibilities:

Adheres to company policies.

Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays based on business need.

Proficiency in using all systems; Toasttab POS, telephones, iPads, and pagers.

Capable of counting in units of money, weight, or otherwise.

Skills Required:

The following physical requirements must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation. The work environment requires tolerance to variations in temperature, wet conditions in dishwashing area, exposure to food products, and manufacturing equipment that includes a variety of controls and mechanisms.

Able to work the shifts agreed between management upon hiring.

May require long shifts, with extensive standing and walking.

Ability to go up and down stairs.

Able to carry at least 2 plates, regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to perform simple grasping or squeezing, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, repetitive hand and arm movements.

Ability to bend, stoop or squat to grab lower shelf items or clean.

Common visual function such as near vision and depth perception.

Talking and hearing continuously in the process of communicating with customers and employees while in a moderate noise level environment.

Additional Information:

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information, respond to questions or concerns from guests.

Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone and in-person.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Food Handler required.
