JOB SUMMARY: Directs and executes sales and marketing and e-commerce strategiesfor the Leisure, SMERF, Tours, Association and Convention segments for the Homewood Suites by Hilton Syracuse/Liverpool, Hampton Inn & Suites Syracuse North, Tru by Hilton Syracuse North, Super 8 Liverpool Syracuse North Airport, Comfort Inn & Suites Watertown/1000 Islands, Hampton Inn Watertown in order to maximize hotel profitability while maintaining highest standard of guest and client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General

· Develops new leisure, SMERF, Tours, Association and Convention accounts and bookings through outside sales calls, cold calls, prospecting, tele-prospecting and site tours for all hotels; maintains existing accounts through outside maintenance calls, site tours and frequent communication via phone calls, email, and mail

· Assists in executing marketing and e-commerce strategies for all hotels

· Update websites as needed, ensuring to promote hotels’ best online image

· Assists Regional Director of Sales in prospecting, telemarketing, and researching of corporate accounts as needed for each hotel

· Maintains relationships with brand and national sales teams to help achieve hotel goals

· Responsible to ensure the department has all supplies, forms, sales kits and sales collateral necessary to perform all functions, keeps an inventory of and orders all necessary sales materials

· Completes all RFP’s, sales leads and qualifiers for each hotel timely and as necessary

· Responsible to submit required paperwork, reports and logs for each hotel timely and as necessary

· Responsible to update and communicate all required account and group information is hotel group sales tracking system

· Responsible to create and update rate agreements and contracts as needed

· Develops relationships with local contacts and attends regular networking and organization/industry events

· Attends weekly revenue and sales meetings; works with all hotel departments daily to execute best strategy for achieving and exceeding sales goals

· Prepares and plans to discuss pertinent corporate sales and group sales information with all operational hotel staff

· Prepares annual Sales and marketing plan for review

· Promotes an I AM SALES culture to ensure all members of the hotel teams are actively engaged in being part of the hotel sales strategy

Other Duties

  • Any and all duties as assigned by Ownership Group

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:

  • Display a positive and professional attitude when working with co-workers, managers, and GUESTS!
  • Meets or exceeds all revenue goals by incorporating a strategic combination of sales tasks including: on-property appointments, property tours; outside sales calls; tele-prospecting and email communications; organization/industry meeting and events
  • Promotes a service oriented culture with each and every guest and team member to ensure a perfect stay for our guests
  • Communicates regularly with all departments in hotel to maintain the highest standard of guest satisfaction; responsible to communicate any issues regarding employees, guests, and department to General Managers
  • Participates in, and attends the following as needed: staff outings, department meetings, staff meetings, corporate training and/or conferences

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· This position has no supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a safe and satisfactory manner. The individual must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and guests and have a neat appearance to represent hotel positively with guests. The individual must be punctual, have a good attendance record, and have reliable means of transportation to work.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position that requires the individual to be on property a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position requires a flexible schedule and open availability Monday through Sunday, based on the operational needs of the hotel. This position requires responsibility to handle any and all hotel problems whenever they may occur. This position is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a Hotel environment. Hotels can be a stressful environment that require frequent, pleasant communication with others, effectively deal with guests, and accept constructive feedback from supervisors. This job requires a person is able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions. This position requires a person work at a desk area that is exposed to the public and utilizes computer equipment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years previous sales experience in Hotel Industry or other related field

PREFERRED EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration or related field
  • 3 years previous sales experience in Hotel Industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
