About the Company:

The Inn at Schofield is a small civilian owned 192 room hotel located on Schofield Barracks Army Base in Wahiawa. The Inn was established to provide temporary lodging for soldiers and their families during their PCS in or out.

  • Bus service is limited onto Schofield Base and requires an approved base pass.
  • All guests without current base access must check-in at Lyman Gate for vehicle inspection and an approved day pass.

Job Title: Housekeeper

Summary:
Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Manager. Housekeepers work closely with Housekeeping Runners, floor supervisors, and coordinators to properly perform various functions to keep hotel rooms and its environment clean, attractive, and comfortable to guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Housekeeping Manager on daily operations.
  • Answer immediately to request from guests, as well as from other departments.
  • Enter guest rooms by adhering to proper procedures.
  • Replace used amenities in guest rooms.
  • Provide clean linens.
  • Fold sheets and towels, make beds, and ensure bathrooms are clean.
  • Take away, room service items, dirty linen, and trash.
  • Perform a check on all room appliances to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Adjust furniture, desk items, and appliances when necessary.
  • Dust furnishings and walls and remove marks from them.
  • Carry out floor care duties in hallway and guest rooms, and vacuum carpets.
  • Adhere to all safety, security, and company procedures and policies.
  • Provide immediate report of any safety hazards, injuries, maintenance problems, or accidents to the supervisor/manager.
  • Keep uniform clean and make sure to appear professional always.
  • Ensure company standards are followed in welcoming and acknowledging all guests.
  • Expect service needs of guests and provide them even before called upon to do so.
  • Apply professional language in communicating with guests and other people.
  • Provide support to team to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain quality standards and expectations.
  • Without assistance, carry, place, move, or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds; with assistance for items beyond 25 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of experience with hospitality, or housekeeping experience preferred.

Job Title: Housekeeping Runner

Summary:

Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Manager. Housekeeping Runner will be directly responsible for performing general cleaning and upkeep of an assigned area within the facility. Specific duties will vary depending on assignment and will include a variety of general cleaning tasks as described below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Housekeeping Manager on daily operations.
  • Answer immediately to request from guests, as well as from other departments.
  • Conduct all required cleaning for assigned area.
  • Distribute supplies across hotel as requested.
  • Gather and empty waster receptacles.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and their use.
  • Sweeping and mopping of floors and stairways.
  • Dusting of furniture, fixtures, ventilation and other surfaces.
  • Polish glass and metal surfaces.
  • Requisition supplies and/or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Follow all safety and personnel rules and regulation.
  • Cleaning of restrooms and other assigned duties.
  • Provide support to team to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain quality standards and expectations.
  • Ensure company standards are followed in welcoming and acknowledging all guests.
  • Ability to work effectively and positively with team members, military families, and individuals at all levels of different organizations.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Able to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to use sound judgment to make decisions and problem solve.
  • Ability to adapt successfully to changing situations and environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks in timely manners.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain a base pass to access military installation.
  • Without assistance, carry, place, move, or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds; with assistance for items beyond 25 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
