Job Summary
Housekeepers at the college are responsible for cleaning all residential, academic, and administrative buildings on campus. A Housekeeper’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Servicing bathrooms
- Removing trash and recycling
- Cleaning and vacuuming, sweeping, washing floors as needed in public spaces on campus
- Set-up spaces for meetings and re-setting classroom spaces at the end of the day
- Maintain inventory of supplies issued to complete assigned jobs
- New employees in Housekeeping will receive a $500 Sign-Bonus(½ paid at first check and ½ paid after 90 days of eligibility requirements are met).
- Hourly rate for this position is $17.50/ per hour (This role is eligible for overtime and shift differential)
Education/Skills Requirements
Required:
- Some High School education OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical computations
- Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and building occupants
- Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team with minimum supervision
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Required:
- Minimum of six months of related experience in a similar role
Preferred:
- Experience working in Higher Education or equivalent
Standard Work Days and Hours
Available shifts for Housekeeping:
- 5:00 am – 1:30 pm
- 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm ( Employees hired to work evening shift will be required to complete 4-5 months of training during the morning shift until fully trained)
Days of the week may vary. Special events and coverage may necessitate overtime hours, including weekends and holidays. Work assignments are reviewed and revised as necessary.
