Job Scope:

The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resource Coordinator ensures that tasks, responsibilities, and procedures are followed in accordance with federal and state regulations. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

Candidates for this role should expect to spend time in our manufacturing environment as a part of their onboarding experience to understand the fundamentals of what our production and distribution employees do and to build relationships within our workplace.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists Benefits Administrator including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
  • Manages employee birthdays and anniversaries. Assists HRIS Specialist with engagement/recognition/rewards.
  • Assists HRIS Specialist with system data entry of new employees.
  • Supports New Employee Orientation administratively.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
  • Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Reconciles benefits statements.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Vice President of HR.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
  • Prepares new-employee files.
  • Processes mail.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
  • At least two years related experience required.
  • SHRM-CP credential preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Teaching and facilitation skills.
  • Organizing and coordinating skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience or interest in manufacturing
