This is a position in the Facilities Maintenance organization with responsibility for ensuring that the facilities infrastructure and building operations equipment continue to operate in a safe and effective manner while moving towards the goal of "no unplanned downtime" of the Reuter Stokes facility. This role will also have components of HSE focus.
As an HSE Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining/troubleshooting & solving technical issues & opportunities pertaining facilities operations.
- Monitoring the condition of the building's utility systems and the general operation of facilities equipment.
- Assisting senior technicians with their projects and day-to-day responsibilities. Perform general labor throughout the facility & responsible for performing preventive maintenance tasks.
- Recommending spare parts to keep on-hand, which if not available could potentially impact our customers’ ability in meeting their commitments.
- Participating in any aspect/component of facilities maintenance & security.
- Assisting in the monitoring of services provided by outside contractors ensuring HSE policies are followed.
- Working with minimal supervision, self-starter. Willingness to learn and grow
- Safety conscience with the ability to advance initiatives/ projects where maintenance support is needed. Innovative - willingness to learn and think creatively.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:
- A high school diploma
- Off shift periodically, be on call roughly 1 week/month. Also willing to work overtime, as needed.
- Commercial/industrial building maintenance background (preferred)
- Possess knowledge in at least one of the building codes such as the NEC, UBC, NFC, and UPC (preferred)
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to properly represent RS with contractors, suppliers, external customers, and auditors, in addition to peers
- Demonstration of good decision-making and safe practices around radioactive sources
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of multiple aspects of facilities such as boilers, chillers, refrigeration equipment, pumps, plumbing, construction, painting, electrical switchgear, generators along with the operation of natural and propane gas systems. Demonstrated abilities in analytical troubleshooting of mechanical & electrical problems.
- 1-year experience in facilities preventative maintenance or closely related experience. Experience in multiple of the building trades, i.e., Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing etc.
- Some type of facilities or maintenance certification. (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Equipment maintenance, etc.)
- On RS Radiation Safety Trustworthy and Reliable list or willing to work toward it.
- AA/AS degree in a technical field.
- Intermediate computer skills including experience with Microsoft applications and SAP
Other skills/experience
- Must be willing to cover for the front desk receptionist when needed (estimate that to be 5 days year)
- Will spend roughly good portion of time supporting the HSE component
- Will help lead\support HSE Safety teams
- Will help run different programs (MOC, Hot work, Permitting, etc.)
- Will help train contractors as needed
- Will work with sourcing items (Creating POs, invoicing, credit cards, & processing receipts) as needed
