Job Scope

The Human Resources will support a dynamic HR team in multiple states. The HR Analyst is responsible for supporting assigned projects related to technology, process improvement, and compensation. The HR Analyst will also handle the administration, update, and maintenance of the learning management systems. This position also supports the HR management team with HRIS entry and wage and hour duties. The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,500 and is also eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus plan. The HR Analyst, as with all members of the Shea Properties Team, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a professional manger which demonstrates initiative, personal awareness, integrity, and confidentiality.

Job Duties

  • Support assigned projects related to technology, process improvement and compensation.
  • Oversee School of Shea, learning management system (LMS). Assign, track, audit and manage all activities, including troubleshooting, system enhancements, etc.
  • Serve as ADP liaison between team members and corporate payroll. Assist new associates with ADP set-up and troubleshoot issues.
  • Enter all Personnel changes in E-1 System: New hire, promotion, transfers, terminations, and LOA status changes.
  • Maintain all employee personnel files – electronic and paper (including archive system). Partner with HR team to ensure pre-employment documents/files are appropriately maintained.
  • Coordinate with outside vendor and HR team on unemployment claims, inquiries, and responses to EDD.
  • Respond to all verification of employment requests (VOE). Ensure information disclosure guidelines are met. Handle all employee garnishments.
  • Prepare termination packets and ensure required documents have been submitted by managers on a timely basis. Ensure exit interviews are scheduled/documented.
  • Conduct routine wage and hour timecard audits. Identify and communicate issues and improvement opportunities to manager.
  • Process/maintain all I-9 files and conduct routine audit.
  • Participate in benefits enrollment process, Wellness program rollout and other HR related initiatives.
  • Conduct periodic file audits to ensure legal compliance.
  • Partner with regional HR teams to support worker’s compensation claims and documentation. Log accidents in OSHA log timely. Prepare wage statements for workers' comp claims.
  • Produce HR related reports from HRIS and payroll database for monthly and quarterly HR metrics calculations.
  • Participate in associate recognition initiatives and team events.
  • Handle other projects and assignments as needed.

Technical/Professional Knowledge (Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience)

  • College degree (BS or BA) plus 1-3 years human resources support experience required.
  • General understanding and knowledge of California Labor, Wage & Hour Law & compliance requirements.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Manage projects through planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
  • Strong analytical ability is required to gather and summarize data for reports and find new solutions to various administrative challenges.
  • Time management and organization skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Proficiency in HRIS, LMS, Time Keeping, and BI systems preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.

Work Environment

The Human Resources Analyst is based out of an office location. Occasional regional and local travel to property locations may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear. May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Hours are usually Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
