Premiere Building Maintenance Corporation is seeking a motivated and experienced Human Resources Administrative Assistant to join our team!

  • Pay Range: $18.00 to $23.00 per hour DOE
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • Location: Knoxville, TN; Hybrid

The HR Administrative Assistant is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and will work closely with the HR Manager and Director of Human Resources. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits, employee relations and employee law compliance. This position will be the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • May assist with preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
  • Continues education through webinars and online training programs.
  • May attend in person seminars if approved by HR Director.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
