In support of our client, we are seeking a Human Resource Director in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Human Resources Director

This position will perform a variety of confidential and complex administrative, technical, and professional duties including, but not limited to, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and establishing effective standards, policies, and procedures for all personnel functions and requirements.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the Human Resources department to achieve departmental goals within prescribed available resources.

Plan and organize workloads and staff assignments within HR department.

Trains, motivates, and evaluates staff, reviewing development progress and directing changes as needed.

Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long-range plans within departments to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Serves as a trusted adviser to the executive leadership team advising on all HR related decisions and function as a HR expert for relevant matters.

Develop and improve Human Resource processes and procedures with leadership team.

Design workforce retention strategies and oversee annual benefits renewals and the open enrollment process.

Implement and support recruitment practices aimed at attracting talent to grow the company into an industry leader.

Annual coordination of personnel budgets with department heads while keeping VTO on track with companywide goals.

Recruits, interviews, and assists in the selection of employees to fill vacant positions.

Manages employee onboarding ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Ensures proper maintenance of all employment records checking compliance with pertinent public records.

Attends and monitors legal proceedings, working with staff and attorneys ensuring proper representation at personnel related hearings and investigations.

Participates in safety training, adjusting as necessary, and upholds core values related to workplace safety.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field

15 years of experience in an upper level supervisory HR position

Must have excellent interpersonal skills

Extensive knowledge of HR principles and practice

Must be 18 years of age

Must be US citizen

PREFERRED SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal skills allowing this individual the ability to work with a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Strong decision-making skills and ability to self-motivate while working remotely, prioritizing necessary actions first. Ability to manage a team and resolve conflicts quickly and effectively. Excellent communication skills and proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 to effectively work remotely.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $60,108.35 - $120,000.00 per year
