Position Summary

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, employee relations, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

2. Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions in conjunction with Human Resources Recruiter; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

3. Audit HR files for background checks and employee eligibility verifications compliance.

4. Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records.

5. Implements new hire orientation and assist with employee recognition programs.

6. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.

7. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff alongside.

8. Leads and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

9. Maintains and assures confidentiality and compliance with legal employment filing standards of all personnel records and related documentation. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

10. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

11. Prepares for and attends unemployment hearings for the purpose of providing testimony.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.

1. No direct supervisory responsibility.

2. Oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of human resource department staff.

3. Time Keeper for Department.

Requirements:

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or health related field required.

2. SHRM-CP acquired within 24 months.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

2. Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
