POSITION PURPOSE:

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for processing the administrative duties of the Human Resources Department. Contributes to the wellbeing and development of the organization’s most precious asset, its people – on a daily basis. Completes and monitors credentialing process.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
Associates Degree required with one year of experience working in Human Resources Office; preferably in a health care setting. Ability to type 40 WPM, computer literate. Experience with credentialing procedures desired. Ability to type 40 WPM, computer literate.

Licensure / Certification:
Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Skills / Ability:
Demonstrates proficiency in verbal, computer and written skills. Ability to work independently; strong-organizational skills and people skills. Ability to handle the demands of a fast-paced Human Resources Department.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION)

Complete application and obtain signatures/documents needed for designated providers for HPS and Credentialing.

Processes HMO’s Credentialing application as required.

Monitors the credentialing process any position which requires Credentialing.

Notifies HR Manager and VP of Human Resources in advance of their required presences of provider being presented to the HPS Committee.

Attends the Health Professional Staff monthly meeting and obtains required signatures.

Maintains assigned employees licenses up-to-date as required by employees position.

Updates ADP system with provider license, DEA, NPDB, CPR, Ground Rounds attendance, etc.

Scan all credentialing documents into ADP and any system needed/requested.

Maintain up-to-date DEA certificates, fingerprints and any other documents associated with the assigned providers.

Advise employees three months in advance of the expiration of the documents, DEA and licenses.

Schedules assigned providers for fingerprinting / background and re-screening when applicable.

Maintains assigned employees licenses up-to-date as required by employees position.

Run monthly reports through ADP to check on provider expiring or missing documents.

Able to navigate UNUM web portal for FMLA.

Manage daily status notifications from UNUM, pertaining to employee leaves and/or Disability status.

Review employee status notifications; provide to the Manager/Supervisor the status notifications immediately.

Assist in reporting new claim as assigned by HR Manager or VP of Human Resources.

Able to provide various reports; e.g., Claim Status Report, Intermittent Leave Summary Report, Detail Integrated Absence Report, etc.

Acts as of the “Point of Contact/Administrator” for all Workers Compensation Claims.

Reporting WC claims to the carrier, this would include: obtaining all information from injured worker, having required documentation filled out and accounted for. Walking the employee over to the provider so they can be evaluated. Explaining the process to the employee.

Sending all medical records to the carrier encrypted. Responding to all phone calls and emails in regards to the injured worker. Advising the injured worker's supervisor of fitness for duty; whether it be light/modified/full duty needed or need for accommodation. Act as liaison between carrier and employee when needed.

Report to Risk Management all injuries and reporting to Infection Control all Blood Bourne Pathogen incidents monthly.

Maintain OSHA 300 and OSHA 301 log form. Visit sites and post yearly OSHA 300A to comply. Inputting all cases in ADP system to be able to track this information.

Communicate on an ongoing basis with the HR Manager and VP of Human Resources about any Red Flags and high risk cases.

Assist in Recruitment when directed by HR Manager. This includes but is not limited to: Informing job applicants of job duties, responsibilities, benefits, schedules, working conditions, promotion opportunities, etc.

Prepares memorandums or other materials, frequently requiring independent action and discretion.

Assists in payroll check distribution as needed.

Cross trained to assist in the absence of other Human Resources Specialist.

Assist as representative at interviews and makes recommendations, when needed.

Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.

Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.

Performs other duties as assigned.
