JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

The Assembly/Disassembly Technician will learn all functions and responsibilities on the cylinder shop floor. The Assembly/Disassembly Technician is responsible for disassembling and assembling hydraulic cylinders for the purpose of rebuild/repair. The successful Technician will have knowledge of internal and external parts of hydraulic components and be familiar with how they work and operate as well as having knowledge of proper testing procedures. Safety is of utmost priority, as is the desire for further training and development

COMPETENCIES:

Individual must be competent in the use of wrenches, air tools, torque wrench, acetylene torches, and hydraulically operated equipment such as shop press/power pack and overhead/jib cranes. Ability to read mics, gauges, measuring tools, and work from blueprints. Interpersonal Skills, good communication, team orientation, and good customer service skills are necessary. Needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have very good time management skills.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High School education or equivalent, experience in a job shop environment dealing with heavy equipment, etc. is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling

Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines

Dexterity Normal

Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
