Ice Cream Manufacturing Supervisor Job at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream LLC
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Manufacturing Coordinator (food processing / manufacturing), based out of Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced individual to work with our production team at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream as the company embarks on its next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about food production, enjoys problem solving, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment (and loves ice cream!).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform NetSuite transactions for creation of Work Orders and assist in the fulfillment of Transfer Orders- Assist in data entry of inventory counts into NetSuite
- Initial training and time clock setup of Temporary Employees
- Payroll tracking and review for temporary and permanent employees
- Pre-print production documents for Warehouse, Mixing and Packaging
- Update Mixing and Packaging Batch Records based on Bill of Material changes in NetSuite
- Supports General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are top priority
- Manage inventories of daily consumables/misc supplies and order as needed
- Assists in conducting plant surveys through routine environmental testing
- Assists Quality Control and Receiving in the receipt and posting of materials
- Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the food safety and quality systems and other 3rd party audits
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays- Bachelor's Degree preferred (not necessary); High School Diploma/GED required
- 2-3 years of experience in a food/beverage manufacturing setting
- Specialized or Technical training which may be obtained in specialized food industry institutions or equivalent work experience
- A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted
- Good organizational, communication, and leadership skills
