The legal department of Iovino Enterprises provides legal advice and assistance to the leadership of the four subsidiary companies - MLJ Contracting, TC Electric, Welkin Mechanical and JTrack – that perform construction services on large public infrastructure projects for public authorities in the New York area. The legal department is expanding and seeks an attorney to advise the business leaders of each subsidiary company, assist in controlling external legal costs, procuring insurance, compliance, managing and directing law firms, experts, insurance brokers, vendors and suppliers. In addition, the successful candidate will have responsibility for negotiating general corporate contracts including construction subcontracts, design-build agreements and leases. The attorney will report directly to the General Counsel.

This is an opportunity to work in-house in an exciting area of law and play a crucial role in building New York’s critical infrastructure. Each day The ideal candidate will have some knowledge of the construction industry and/or insurance procurement.

• Responsible for all insurance matters across the family of companies
• Negotiating contracts including construction subcontracts, design-build agreements and leases

• JD or LLM
• Admitted to practice in New York

Qualifications

• JD and/or LLM
• 2 years’ experience or more
• Experience or knowledge of the public construction industry is a plus
• Insurance experience is highly desirable
