The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying Industrial Paint to carbon steel and stainless steel welded pressure vessels and also works in the Final Assembly & Hydro departments. The position requires following the documented process steps to sandblast, prep, prime, paint final product, using available machinery and hand tools to meet required specifications. Previous experience with Industrial Painting is highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Read and understand Job Packages & Work Instructions

2. Pull inventory from stock as necessary

3. Keep track of raw materials and request supplies to keep department replenished

4. Entering and operating an enclosed sandblasting machine to clean & prepare surfaces.

5. Apply paint, enamel, and epoxy paints to welded structures, using, spray guns & brushes when necessary.

6. Selects paint according to provided specifications.

7. Selects and mixes paints per provided specifications to thin or promote drying and adhesion.

8. Assists with the procurement of paints & supplies necessary for production.

9. Uses high air-pressure sandblasting equipment, washing equipment and other abrasives to remove rust, grease, dirt, prior to paint application.

10. Use appropriate tools and processes (hand tools, machinery etc) to assemble product to meet required specifications.

11. Disassemble paint and sandblasting equipment to clean and maintain equipment, as deemed necessary.

12. Communicates regularly with team members and management regarding concerns, discrepancies and continuous improvement efforts/ideas.

13. Follows Graver Technologies work safety requirements and works safely in general all the time.

14. Maintains clean and organized work area.

15. Other duties as assigned and/or needed.

Position Qualifications:

In general, the following are the basic requirements for this position in terms of skill level, education and experience.

Education:

High school diploma or GED

Skill and Experience:

1. Ability to read, write and interpret general documents such as work instructions, manuals and job packages.

2. Ability to communicate in verbal and written form to supervisor on questions specific to processes and manufacturing status.

3. Ability to accurately read a measuring tape and do basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and divide.

4. Previous experience in Industrial Painting highly preferred.

5. Previous experience in a Manufacturing Environment is highly preferred.

6. Previous experience with Industrial Assembly is highly preferred

7. Fork Truck Experience is highly preferred.

8. Industrial rigging (use of jib cranes) is highly preferred

9. Availability to work overtime as required (both during the week and on weekends).

10. Self-motivated and maintains high level of attendance.

11. Ability to lift on average 50lbs of weight and move about 20ft.

12. Ability to stand the entire shift.
