Industrial Process Engineer

ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, a multi-discipline Engineering, and Architecture firm. We specialize in providing technical recruitment and staffing services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, and a broad range of other technical disciplines.

In support of our client, the leading manufacturer for the oil and gas industry in the USA, we are searching for two (2) Industrial Process Engineers – for direct-hire opportunities with our client. These positions will be located in North Houston, TX (I-45 & Beltway 8 accessible). One position will be for a more Senior Level/Supervisory role while the other can be more Junior to Mid-Level.

Job Description:

Identify ways and opportunities to improve

• Carry out diagnostic and self-assessment tools such as Value Stream Mapping to understand the overall strengths and weaknesses in the manufacturing or administrative process.
• Prioritize and execute projects to improve key process indications
• Identify and participate in Capital Investments (CAPEX) projects to streamline flows and layouts

Conduct and support Root Cause Analysis

• Carry out analysis with project leaders and continuous improvement team members to identify root causes of process variability
• Prepare and facilitate idea generation workshops to identify opportunities to reduce cost and generate savings at all levels in the organization
• Develop and analyze which requires statistical data and more advanced problem-solving tools

Teach and Coach

• Act as a resident expert for improvement methodologies
• Develop training materials and empower people on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• Coordinate and lead the implementation of a structured target program for improvements teams

Benchmark success projects

• Support Cross-site and cross-functional efforts to improve shared business processes both transactional and operational
• Develop and maintain relationships with TCC and Global Benchmarking community

Audit the sustainability of manufacturing and business processes

• Hold teammates accountable for the good deliverance and sustainability of improvement results
• Perform audits and routines with Steering Committee to drive towards operational excellence
• Prepare and present executive reports to upper management and peers

Define mid and long-term strategic plans

• Support plant managers to establish roadmaps that focus on achieving key process indicators using Continuous Improvement projects and other Lean initiatives
• Propose an ambitious plan to reach the future state of the business strategy of the company

Coordinate Continuous Improvement Teams

• Follow up
• Promote continuous improvement efforts ad results throughout the company to keep motivation and momentum
• Facilitate communication between all levels of the organization

Requirements:

• BS Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar discipline
• 3-5+ years of experience in related field
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus
• Ability to prepare reports in a structured form and present information to all levels of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis software such as MiniTab
