As engineers, we've all felt the pain of getting the access we need to do our jobs, whether it's for a piece of infrastructure, a newly deployed service, or a design doc. At Opal, we’re building a central hub for authorization to simplify this spaghetti mess and make best-practice access management automated, intelligent, and easy to use.

We’re tackling a difficult product and engineering challenge. Every system has its own philosophy for access control, which makes orchestrating them with a consistent set of policies challenging. We need talented engineers who can navigate this technically complex space and help us design and build the right abstractions to solve such a universal problem.

Your responsibilities

• You will continue to lay down the foundation of Opal’s automated infrastructure in the cloud and on-premise.

• You will help to continually improve our CI and release tooling.

• You think about security in all parts of your work.

• You will work closely with leadership, our product team, and other engineers in roadmapping, architecture, and product discussions.

Our ideal candidate

• Deep experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform

• Is comfortable with Golang development

• Is passionate about security and building productivity tools

• Has 4+ years experience as a full-time DevOps engineer or equivalent experience

• Thrives in ambiguous environments with significant ownership and with the opportunity to make decisions that have a huge impact on the business
