Position: Inside Sales Representative

Job Description:

Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for generating new revenue through prospecting via the telephone and the internet to pursue business. Responsibilities include analyzing market data, logging sales activity and effective interdepartmental collaboration to generate additional revenue. As well as discovering, qualifying, and successfully advancing new opportunities consistent with the sales and marketing plan of the company.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Identify, prospect, and foster the growth of new business partnerships
  • Works with customers to anticipate and interpret customer needs and business challenges
  • Work as a liaison between Customer and Forward Air, on a macro and micro level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Measure and analyze key performance indicators; performance tracking, errors, and weekly/monthly/quarterly volume and revenue figures
  • The ability to manage and react to day-to-day sales requirements in a professional and timely manner
  • Create and foster new business partnerships with local and national clientele
  • Must schedule and attend meetings, calls, and work on day-to-day tasks with highly effective time management skills
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not require, combination of education and/or experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree
  • Proven Track record of experience and successes in a prior sales position(s)
  • Computer literate to include Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and sell key company services based on current corporate objectives
  • Have strong time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Must have the ability to relate to and work well with different personalities. Must be outgoing and friendly and can generate sales revenue through partnership
  • Familiar with CRM such as sales force.
  • Occasional travel required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Transportation industry knowledge is a plus
