The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business seeks applications for an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Practice in Supply Chain Management beginning in the 2023-24 academic year. The Decision Sciences faculty offer courses as part of the core for all undergraduate and graduate business majors as well as an undergraduate major in Supply Chain Management, an MBA specialization in Operations and Supply Chain Management, an undergraduate major in Business Analytics, an MBA specialization in Business Analytics, and an MS in Business Analytics.
The successful candidate is expected to teach supply chain management related courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A secondary interest in operations management, project management, or statistics is desired. The successful candidate is expected to bring a unique and innovative educational experience to students through classroom teaching and mentorship. As such, there is the opportunity for student engagement through mentoring student activities outside the classroom. The successful candidate will be expected to teach classes on the main campus in Vermillion, SD, online, and in Sioux Falls, SD. Duties include an annual teaching load of eight courses.
Required Qualifications: A master’s degree in business, decision sciences, operations management, statistics, or a closely related field. Candidates must have professional experience in supply chain management, transportation management, logistics, project management, or a related field. Other requirements are proficiency in oral and written communication, and enthusiasm for engagement, service, and the public good.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with a graduate degree from an AACSB-International accredited business school are preferred. Related professional certification is preferred.
