Insurance Field Inspector of Northeastern NJ

Reports to: Manager of Classification and Inspection

Salary Range: $54k-$60k

Classification: Exempt

Location: On the road

Territory: Northeastern NJ; Fort Lee down to Monmouth County, and west to Rt 287

Schedule: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Job Summary:

Conduct physical inspections of New Jersey employers and provide detailed reports of the operations and employment. The inspection results are used to establish the propriety of the classification schedule used on the employer’s workers compensation policy.

Essential Job Functions:

• Independently scheduled inspections with employers to review operations and employment.
• Submit comprehensive inspection reports representing the employer’s operational processes and employment.
• Work with Underwriting Analysts, and the Division Manager and/or Director to address specific inquiries related to an employer’s operations.
• Assist with special investigations, as directed.
• Attend Bureau, industry and training meetings as required.
• Provide weekly report of completed work and travel reimbursement requests.
• Perform other activities, as directed.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of industrial machinery, equipment, raw materials, and manufacturing/fabricating processes.
• Prior experience in field inspecting or other related industry experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent driving, standing, walking, bending, reaching overhead, extension.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to physically inspect property.
• Must be able to travel as directed within New Jersey to perform audits/inspections.

Additional Requirements

• Must have current driver's license and current automobile insurance.
• This position requires use of your personal vehicle.
• Mileage is reimbursed at current IRS rates.
