A Seattle family living in the Interlaken area near the Arboretum is looking for a household manager. This is a one-parent household, and the dad needs extra support. This is a bustling household with two children, a son aged 8 and a daughter aged 14, and a Bernedoodle puppy. The role will primarily be for the youngest as the oldest is very self-sufficient though sometimes, she may need to be driven to/from an activity. They value honesty, supporting one another first and foremost, and inclusiveness, respect, and kindness. They love active time, and you can often find them skiing during the winter season. His son loves school and is known to come home and diligently complete his homework before playing with his neighborhood friends or attending tae kwon do lessons. He is very bright and inquisitive; dad believes he may be a scientist someday! His daughter is relatively independent and responsible, a keen skateboarder, and attends soccer practice after school. It is also her responsibility to look after their new puppy. They have an overnight nanny I placed when dad travels, and she easily bonded with the children.

ABOUT THE NANNY: They are looking for a reliable, kind, and invested provider for their family – someone who enjoys supporting school-aged children in their day-to-day lives and activities. A forward thinker who can anticipate this family's needs is a must, with excellent organizational and time management skills to handle household management duties with minimal guidance. They need someone with strong communication skills who is honest and transparent.

HOURS:
Option 1) FT: A household manager duties with 40 hours per week, depending on the nanny's needs; this could be across 4-5 days, depending on the nanny's availability and needs. They need someone to ideally stay until 6:30p.
Option 2) PT: The nanny position is projected to be around 20 hours per week. From 3:30p to 6:30p/7p Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. From 1:30p to 6:30/7p on Wednesdays. This could also be across 4 to 5 days a week.

IDEAS OF HOUSE MANAGER DUTIES: Family laundry, family dishes, meal prep, meals a couple of times a week, keeping fridge and pantry organized, keeping items stocked in all areas of the home, keeping up on the family calendar daily, scheduling after-school activities and appointments (such as doctor visits and car service), preparing the house for holidays (inc. holiday decorating and take down), general errands, and home organization.

LONGEVITY: Long-term role, ideally for at least the following year, though the need is long-term.

RATE: Depends on experience, duties, and hours, around $35 per hour.

START DATE: When the right candidate is found.
