Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting for an international sales representative for our Caribbean territory. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 98th year of business, is a designer, marketer and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture) leather furniture and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality and contract markets. Our organization is comprised of twelve business units: three domestic upholstery manufacturers, two import upholstery divisions, four import case goods brands, an outdoor division, and two contract furnishings groups. Together, we offer our customers a variety of different price points and product categories. Domestically, we produce premium, residential custom leather and custom fabric-upholstered furniture through our Bradington-Young, Sam Moore, MARQ and Shenandoah Furniture brands.
The Position:
We are looking for an experienced sales representative who will lead the territory sales growth strategy with existing and new customers. This individual will achieve budgeted sales goals and develop strategic plans in collaboration with management. Main duties include:
  • Actively manage the territory, seeking year-upon-year growth and maximizing the sales of all product lines produced by Hooker Furnishings Corporation.
  • Develop strong partnerships with retailers, buyers, and retail sales associates to train on product features and benefits.
  • Consistently offer professional and engaging service to retailers, buyers, and retail sales associates.
  • Ensure the achievement of sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  • Develop and maintain a level of superlative product knowledge, including furniture, fabrics, and finishes.
Candidates that will be a great fit will:
  • Live within the region (this is required) and must speak the language associated with the region (territory).
  • Have at least five years of experience as a sales representative, buyer, or retail merchandiser.
  • Be organized and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be able to speak and write in English at high proficiency and understanding.
  • Attend USA trade shows one time per year.
  • Have a high level of technical skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, along with internal company systems required to serve customers.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record of building dealer relationships, sales success OR success in a retail sales environment as buyer / merchandiser.
  • Have a four-year degree from college or university (preferred, not required)
Salary: This is a high compensation, uncapped, 100% commission-only position with an immediate opportunity for growth and entrepreneurship!
