We are hiring a full time Intervention Therapist to work in our New Directions Program.
What we do here:
New Directions is a year-round program that provides a unique combination of specialized mental health treatment and comprehensive educational services. It is the only licensed partial hospitalization program in Fayette County as well as a Private Academic School. New Directions is licensed through the PA Department of Education and Department of Human Services.
New Directions offers a comprehensive mental health treatment program to children and adolescents that have moderate to severe symptoms manifested as problems with home, community and school adjustments. New Directions serves clients from grades K-12.
The target objectives for New Directions are to treat the underlying mental health conditions, to assist the child/adolescent to cope with problems more successfully and learn to demonstrate more age-appropriate, pro-social and rewarding behaviors.
The ultimate goal is for the child to be able to successfully re-enter the traditional public-school setting, be productive in their communities, and well-adjusted in their families.
How does this job contribute to the program?
The Intervention Therapist works in conjunction and collaboration with the Primary Mental Health Therapists, Psychiatrist, Nurses and Teachers to provide daily mental health interventions in accordance with the individual child’s needs and established plans. The Intervention Therapist will provide interventions and guidance to assist children to develop and practice skills necessary to perform within their daily roles.
What is a typical schedule for this position?
Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
What are the qualifications to get this job?
You must possess a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field. We prefer candidates with one year of mental health experience.
