Responsibilities

As the Investigations Manager and under general direction of the Director, Global Business Conduct, you will partner with businesses, security, information technology, legal, finance, controllers, audit, human resources, and other relevant functions in the execution of Global Business Conduct’s ongoing operations. You will support the organizational culture in which integrity, honesty and compliance are guiding principles at all levels of the organization. This experienced investigator will conduct investigations concerning the potential violations of applicable laws and company policies, primarily for North America and Latin America.

Responsibilities
  • Be the expert on Eastman’s Code of Business Conduct and related policies
  • Conduct investigations related to a wide variety of issues, such as workplace relations, workplace harassment, discrimination, theft, fraud, conflicts of interest, and health and safety issues
  • Review records such as financial statements, emails, or other documents to gather information about a case
  • Interview witnesses or individuals involved in an incident to obtain further details about the incident
  • Work within legal guidelines when gathering information about individuals or investigating crimes
  • Conduct surveillance operations on individuals or businesses to gather evidence of wrongdoing
  • Work with limited oversight to identify key risks and prioritize investigative activities that yield accurate, prompt results
  • Champion Eastman’s no retaliation policy and relentlessly pursue protection of good faith reporters
  • Present to teams varying in size on cases and/or training
  • Protect confidential information obtained through investigative activities
  • Efficiently and effectively document investigative activities to maintain accurate records of investigations
  • Develop disciplinary recommendations, when necessary, that ensure fair and equitable treatment while demonstrating Eastman’s commitment to legal and ethical behavior
  • Clearly communicate investigative results to leaders and business partners as well as outside professionals as appropriate
  • Follow up on findings to ensure remediation of concerns

Qualifications

  • Strong judgment, integrity, and discretion. Unwavering moral code and sense of ethics
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field and a minimum of 8 years’ investigative experience in casework/management, auditing, security, or related field
  • Prior experience in a large multinational corporate compliance program is a plus
  • Prior experience in Law Enforcement is a plus
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or equivalent certification is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and follow-up skills required
  • Ability to self-direct work in a demanding environment
  • Ability to prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple investigations; strong attention to detail; and ability to synthesize large volumes of data and extract actionable information
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and capable of expressing oneself clearly
  • Strong presentation skills in both case briefing and training large audiences
  • Cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems and utilize a broad perspective to identify solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated track record of working well with individuals and stakeholders at various levels within and outside an organization
  • Fluent in English – speaking and writing
