IoT Engineer Job at Dexter Laundry
Job Description:
Dexter Laundry builds commercial washers and dryers for a variety of customer markets. The user-interface controls & IoT systems used in these markets have led to rapid growth and the need for additional engineering support. This includes web-based monitoring and mobile app payment systems. The engineer will work both individually and in partnership with contract manufacturers to develop new products and support existing ones. This position requires self-motivation, creativity and strong organizational skills. The engineer must be able to multi-task and interact with various internal departments and external vendors.
General Purpose: Competencies
- Basic knowledge of low voltage power systems is required (1PH, 50/60Hz, up to 240VAC)
- MS Excel, PPT and Word skills are required
- Basic knowledge of circuit board design is preferred
- Basic knowledge of web development tools and programming languages is preferred
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems is preferred
- Basic knowledge of mobile app systems is preferred
Position Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for project management work dealing with networking systems, web-based customer tools and IoT-related projects
- Directly responsible for project management work integrating embedded systems, PCB hardware and software use into commercial appliances
- Directly responsible for development of testing standards and laboratory testing of embedded systems and IoT systems
- Occasional responsibility involving travel to customer locations for system troubleshooting and field test monitoring
- Occasional responsibility involving after-hours support for IoT system status
- Other responsibilities and duties as directed by the Engineering Manager
- General responsibilities to take ownership in our business results and your personal wellness.
Essential education, licenses, certifications, skills and experience:
