Job Description

The primary focus of an IT Help Desk/Support Specialist is to offer assistance to computer system users. They will monitor, operate, coordinate, assist and train others in the operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals in order to achieve the desired result of the department and the company as a whole. This role will utilize computer equipment, software and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of complex information technology tasks.

The IT Help Desk/Support Specialist will often need to work independently, but on occasion working as a group will be required. This position will be required to update supervisors on the status of projects and technical issues. They will exercise judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly, and will determine when to refer problems to the supervisor or the next level of support. This role may provide information and training to staff on established policies and procedures, or services provided. This is a full time first shift position that is located in Aurora, OH.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and configure computers, peripherals, and accounts
  • Software installation and configuration
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware, assistance may be conducted in person or remotely
  • Track all instances of support by creating and updating IT tickets
  • Refer difficult cases to a senior IT member
  • Assist in research and procurement of computer accessories and supplies
  • Able to run network cables and use scissor lift
  • All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team as well as independently
  • Minimum 1 year experience in information technology or technical support
  • Bachelors degree in a related field strongly preferred
  • A+, Network+, Security+, or other technical certifications preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time may be required
  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or operate high lift equipment (no experience required)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM +/-

Salary: $50,000-$60,000 per year
