Job Summary

The City of Woodburn is looking for a Network Administrator to help secure, monitor performance, and coordinate planned maintenance of our reliable and efficient networks. The ideal candidate will make recommendations, deploy and configure hardware, proactively work on all network equipment, and work with other staff to ensure smooth network operation.

The Information Technology department provides support for the City’s MAN (metropolitan area network), servers, hardware, software, e-mail system, phone system, camera system, Geographic Information System , and website. The primary goal of the IT Department is to provide excellent technology services to both the City staff and the public. The IT department also provides IT support services, via intergovernmental agreements, to METCOM 911, City of Silverton, City of Mt. Angel, City of Gervais, Woodburn Fire District, Aurora Fire District, and Mt. Angel Fire District. This position would help manage other networks and the interconnections between the other agencies as well.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, and at least three (3) years of experience in network administration, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Other Requirements:


  • Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Criminal Justice Information System clearance and Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire (clearance must be maintained throughout employment)
  • Valid Oregon class C driver's license and the ability to meet the City of Woodburn's driving standards
