Company Intro: Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. (OHI) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing quality, accessible and comprehensive primary health care to the residents of Ocean and Monmouth County; regardless of economic status.

Our Health Center Locations: Brick, Freehold, Lakewood, Little Egg Harbor, Manahawkin, Manchester and Toms River; with our school-based Wellness Programs located within the Clifton Ave Grade School, Lakewood; and Lakewood High School.

OHI services include family and internal medicine, pediatrics, behavioral health, nutrition, OB/GYN women’s health, dental, family planning, specialty care, pharmacies, PrEP, and a STI clinic.

Hours: Full-time hours are M-F 8:00am- 4:30pm with rotating evening/Saturday shifts (subject to seasonal changes and business/site needs)

Position Summary

Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Specialist provides targeted, high-level IT support for the systems, networks, and end users within the organization. In addition, the ideal candidate will be open to an all-encompassing approach to IT with branching responsibilities in server, database, cloud administration, Microsoft Office 365, and desktop support. Must be familiar with a variety of the field’s latest concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains performance and integrity of internal networks and connected computing environments.
  • Creates maintains and periodically tests cloud-based disaster recovery systems and data backups for sensitive or critical IT assets.
  • Protects the organizations data, software, hardware, and users by planning, coordinating and implementing network and system level security measures.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and resolves hardware, software, system and network related issues escalated from the Help Desk.
  • Creates and maintains inventory, network, and cost monitoring systems.
  • Creates and updates SOPs (standing operating procedures).
  • Consistently evaluates and reports on the technology needs of the organization’s facilities and initiatives.
  • Identifies and presents IT process improvements.
  • Proficient in Windows based operating systems, web-based applications, networking, desktop, server, and cloud computing environments.
  • Possesses the ability to explain and train others on complicated technical concepts and workflows.
  • Actively researches and applies recommended updates to OHI’s hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Works with the VP of IT and IT Manager to develop and refine projects.
  • Prepares and submits monthly activity reports to the VP of IT.
  • Completes all mandatory in-services and attends all mandatory in-service meetings.
  • Adheres to Corporate Compliance policies.
  • Is highly accountable for one's own productivity. To maintain transparency, all projects must be represented clearly on a project board in Monday.com. Responsible for ensuring the board is always updated and accurate and that information is accessible to those that need it.
  • Always provides excellent customer service.
  • Appropriately responds to security threats and notifications from systems and/or staff in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to Corporate Compliance policies.
  • Maintains a monthly passing scorecard threshold at 80%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Licensure

  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics is required.
  • Discipline-specific technical certifications.
  • Three to five years of experience in building, troubleshooting, and maintaining networks, cloud environments and Microsoft Windows-based operating systems.
  • Strong customer service, leadership and relationship building skills.
  • Active participation in ongoing education and additional certifications as appropriate
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills for all issues and assigned tasks.
  • Multi-tasking skills and flexibility to adapt to changing environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is required.
