Java/Spark Engineer

We are currently sourcing for a Java/Spark Engineer to work in Durham, NC!

The Team

We are part of Investment Operation group which acquires, leads and distributes data to multiple groups in fidelity to perform there day to day activities which includes investment decisions, performance of funds, index, and master reference data for securities. The primary role of this group is to acquire data from multiple market providers like Bloomberg, Morning Star, S&P, Moody’s, Fitch etc. and prepare data in business-friendly format by applying business transformation and validations. Once the data is converted into business-friendly format make the data available to multiple consumers through API, Golden Gate distribution and other channels like Queue, Streaming etc.

The Role

As part of DAAF (Data Acquisition and Analytical Framework) team you will be working on enhancing next generation inhouse build acquisition platform using cloud technologies. DAAF is build using Java Spark programming language and use AWS EMR as the infrastructure for execution. You would be developing lambda, Spark application for processing vendor fosters and converting into internal/business friendly format. Also involved in performance management and cost optimization as we take care of huge volume of data.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor in Information Technology
• 10+ years of experience in Java Spark development
• Expertise in developing applications using Spring, Spark, Core Java and AWS technologies like Lambda, EMR
• Expertise in developing CICD pipeline to migrate applications patterns like Web services, Angular
• Expertise in providing leadership support by providing technical solutions
• Expertise in handling huge dataset
• Expertise in code reviews for standards and efficient coding practices
• Expertise in building monitoring and alerting tools to report failure or potential performance degradation
• Expertise in providing post production support for applications
