Job Description – Administrative Assistant
The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton & its Agencies care for those in need, strengthen Jewish life, and create connections among Jews — acting locally, in Israel, and around the world. The Boonshoft Center for Jewish Culture and Education is home to the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton, Jewish Community Center and its Early Childhood Education program, Jewish Family Services, Jewish Community Relations Council, Jewish Foundation, and The Dayton Jewish Observer.

Position Summary
The Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton is seeking a full-time administrative professional to serve as the administrative assistant for the Jewish Community Center.

Principal JCC Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist in the direct coordination of the following areas: JCC Advisory Board, Cultural Arts & Book Series, Dayton Jewish Film Festival, Youth, Teen & Family, BBYO and other programs or events.
  • Collaboratively manage scheduling for the Senior Director and leverage Senior Director’s time by anticipating and proactively addressing needs and priorities.
  • Arranges travel logistics for Senior Director, including accommodations, transportation, and itinerary preparation.
  • Develop and maintain systems to provide Senior Director with efficient and confidential access to information.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, presentations, and reports on behalf of Senior Director, as requested.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support Senior Director and Leadership Team management and decision making.
  • Maintain office supplies and anticipate needs for new purchases in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Prepare for board, committee, and/or task force meetings.
  • Support the Senior Director in producing reports, meeting agendas, and materials.
  • Coordinate Advisory Board, committee, and/or task force meeting logistics.
  • Compile and maintain board, committee, and/or task force contact information and details.
  • Operate standard office equipment efficiently to include multi-line telephone, facsimile machine, calculator, computer with printer, photocopy machine.
  • Coordinate with marketing department to submit calendar requests and updates for event information, as well as monitoring upcoming event attendance.
  • Prepare purchase orders and requests for payment.
  • Code receipts and submit to accounting department. Additionally, track budget/spending for individual events.
  • Additional and various administrative support as needed.

Qualifications: · Knowledge or Education: GED Required; High School Diploma preferred.· Experience: 1+ year experience preferred.· Personable, diplomatic, and passionate about providing outstanding customer service.· Thrives on successfully communicating with a diverse population.

  • Good judgment and strong inclination to be proactive.

· Proficient in the use of a computer and related software applications, preferably Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint Excel, Access, Zoom and Outlook.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
